We successfully landed in Dublin, Ireland! The long, long journey resulted in our first day consisting of us sleeping until 5PM in the comfort of our hotel room… and then wandering out, a bit disoriented, searching the Dublin streets for a well deserved dinner. Jamie and I made the most of our trek to not one, not two, but three different restaurants, by playing Pokémon Go. We were quite the sight, three sleep deprived, bundled up Americans, two of which were playing Pokémon Go with slow, halfhearted movements. It was fun nonetheless, and Dublin welcomed us with open arms — through the few people we actually had the energy to interact with.
Oh, and, I turned 18! We landed on August 2nd, which is, coincidentally, my birthday. However, since we truly did sleep the day away, I decided that the next day counted as my birthday as well. It’s only fair!
Well, the next day, with much effort to get up out of bed, we were able to pull ourselves down to the hotel breakfast (which had a pancake maker, something I had never seen before, but Jamie had and made sure to show me how it worked). It was a day of Tesco Express-ing, pharmacy shopping, and we ended it off with fish and chips at this lovely restaurant simply called Fish Shop. It was my birthday dinner and I couldn’t have asked for anything better! The fish was cooked to perfection, with the batter being light and fresh, but still crunchy enough to make an impact on the haddock.
While these two days may seem uneventful for a world trip, all greathings must start somewhere. The next day held a myriad of events, as we took a tour to the Cliffs of Moher — however! I shall keep you in suspense, until the next post. Farewell for now!
I love how the you wrote this! it sounds exactly how you talk. I’m so glad that your first couple of days in ireland were so fun!i ily so so much
AWW!! thank you sm for this <3 ily so so much!!
When I was in England, the fish and chips were served in newspapers. The newspaper ink added to the taste of the fish. Garry
dude that fish is such an aesthetic, and I agree that this is wonderfully written!
I would lie to know what kind of Fish it was. After reading your critique (sounded just like a restaurant review) all that was missing was the kind of fish. Have loved reading your writing ever since your first story!
